First things first, we need to keep the roofing area clean. When fall comes around and all the leaves that were in the trees wind up on your roof it is important that we get them down. Leaves can build up in your valleys or around penetrations which makes it difficult for water to shed properly. Imagine a beaver building a dam in a stream. It creates an obstacle for the water to flow and thus it overflows in the area with the debris. Storms can blow limbs down onto your roof as well which needs to be inspected for damage and can also cause backups on your roof. When water backs up and can’t drain quickly enough it causes the water to back up underneath the shingles and allows it to get through the nail holes. Gutters need to be addressed as well, many times when we inspect a roof leak it is due to backed-up gutters causing water to overflow and get back into the house or rot the fascia/soffit.

When you call Elite Roofing Solutions out for an inspection, we are going to climb your roof and check for a multitude of issues. If you have a flat roof, we are going to inspect to make sure proper materials have been used. We will check to make sure all drains and downspouts are clear and functional. All flashings will be inspected for gaps/tears and ensure that they are properly sealed. All vents, pipes, and stacks will be inspected for gaps/tears and ensure that they are properly sealed. Our inspectors will make note of any blistering, cracking, tears, holes, abrasions, or deep scratches on all roofing shingles/membranes. Finally, we will take a look at any repair spots to make sure they are still functioning correctly. It is a thorough inspection every time we set foot on the roof.
